FutureSense: Gavin Newsom Will Not Be the Next POTUS

As previously mentioned; I like Gavin Newsom’s podcast. Though, one thing becomes increasingly obvious to me as time goes on and his catalog of podcast episodes expands. Gavin Newsom will not win the White House in 2028. Mortgage the house, bet the farm, empty your 401k, cash out your kid’s college fund and bank on his loss; FutureSense has spoken…

Well first, let’s examine some answers that are often cited (though incorrect) to explain this. Newsom’s track record certainly falls into this column. Don’t get me wrong, Gavin Newsom’s time in Sacramento is absolutely ripe pickings for attack ads. Under Newsom’s tenure as Governor, San Francisco became the new Detroit as BigTech packed up and left, leaving only high rates of property crime and homelessness in its wake. The burdensome laws around zoning and building have caused a massive housing crisis under his watch. Not to mention, his lack-of-leadership has caused a disastrously poor response to the Palisades getting lit up. Newsom is barely even liked in his own state as he had to fend off a recall election. He’s also seen most of his turf flip Republican while on the top job. But his repulsive resume is not the reason he stands absolutely zero fucking chance.

If not his piss-poor performance, is it his policies? Well no, that isn’t the reason he would get utterly annihilated in 2028, though it’s a good guess. What Newsom wants, to be fair, isn’t that different from the rest of his party. In his episode with Tim Walz the two failed old liberals discuss how popular the Left’s wish-list is. Single-payer healthcare, free college, and affordable housing are some of the liberal ideas that have popular support. So, policy ideas can’t be the reason why Gavin Newsom won’t win in 2028.

No, the real reason that explains Gavin Newsom’s nonexistent Presidential odds; the fact that he’s a cishet white male. Yes, you read that correctly and I’m serious. Despite getting thoroughly curb stomped at the polls back in November on the altar of DEI and 17 genders, the modern Democrat Party leadership cannot pivot away from this arena. Gavin Newsom is frankly a loss just waiting to happen, solely because of thinly-veiled racism.

And, you know who’s truly aware that Gavin Newsom would get smoked in 2028? Gavin Newsom. He gets extra passive-aggressive when a left-of-center guest brings up 2028. One recent example of this happened in the closing of his recent discussion with Dr. Phil. Newsom concluded with a snide Well, you aren’t answering questions about your future either; as if anyone seriously fucking cared about Dr. Phil’s career prospects. Face it, Newsom wouldn’t be dodging the topic so hard if he was a viable candidate; he isn’t one and he knows it.

But let’s say for the sake of argument that I’m wrong on that point (despite my track record), and Newsom does decide to run for President in 2028. We’ve seen what the Democrat Party leadership does to campaigns they don’t support. Anyone who doesn’t believe me can just ask Bernie Sanders. Frankly, Hakeem Jeffries or AOC stand better chances of getting the nod than Newsom. Mark my words; the Democrats will learn nothing from 2024, and no amount of Barack Obama being a hype man will change that.

But let’s say, even for the sake of argument that I’m wrong again and Newsom somehow gets the DNC nomination. Newsom still has a snowball’s chance in hell of reaching the Oval Office in 2028. Why? You know, these things called Republicans. If there’s anything we’ve learned in the post-Obama world of campaigning is that while Democrats love to in-fight, Trump taught us that Republicans coalesce quickly. By the time the dust settles and Newsom emerges victorious from LiberalLand, the Republicans will have made serious gains on the campaign trail. Hence, Newsom would have a steep uphill battle. Democrats don’t do well in tight Presidential races; the last Donkey to win a buzzer-beater was Carter. Democrats can only win with a massive lead, and Gavin Newsom would have anything but.
